But s/he doesn’t want me to go to the school

Remember that the most likely causes are -

bulletbeing frightened of what the bullies might do
bulletbeing unsure or frightened of parental reaction
bulletbeing ignored or told to sort it out themselves
bulletbelieving that the adults will act in a clumsy way and make the situation worse
bulleta teenager's typical dread of a fuss
bulletThis will be difficult for you if your child seems set against you contacting the school.

You will have to consider your child's,

bullet- physical safety
bullet- emotional state
bullet- age
bullet- relationship with you in the family
bulletand the seriousness of the bullying.

If you decide that the situation is sufficiently serious that you are going to contact the school:

bulletalways try to work through the school
bullettake time to talk over the situation
bullettake time to persuade your child why this must happen
bullettry and get some agreement, even if only a little, that something has
bulletto be done
bulletlisten carefully so it is clear you are not ignoring your child's views
