The Technical Department at Eyemouth High School
comprises two teachers and offers Standard Grade, Intermediate 2 and Higher
courses in both Craft and Design and Graphic Communication.
As part of the Standard Grade Graphic
Communication course pupils are required to compile a portfolio of work
which is internally assessed by the class teacher. The portfolio should
contain evidence of work in a range of graphic skills, both manually and
computer generated. The evidence for the portfolio should be selected from
work done throughout the two year course.
The portfolio contains ten sub elements as
shown below. It is possible for one piece of work to cover more than one
sub element. For example, a CAG display may be used for evidence for
layout and lettering or computer aided draughting. This policy of using a
single piece of work to cover more than one sub element is used
extensively at Eyemouth High School.
