Technically, the school does not
have jurisdiction over pupils in these circumstances.
It
is still important to tell the school about any bullying problem.
A problem outside the school can
be carried over into school and your child needs to be protected by the
school.
If a problem arises at
lunchtimes, the best advice is to stay in school where the school can
support and act.
The school will want to help
as much as possible in sharing information and giving advice on what to do
next, based on experience. Bullying
outside school needs the active co-operation of pupils, parents, the
school and police along with responsible, caring action by the general
public.
If bullying is taking place on a
bus provided by the Education Authority, then the school can and will act.
