Every pupil has the right to be happy at school.
This includes being free from bullying.

Bullying will never be tolerated and the victims of bullying will always be supported. The underlying principle is that pupils should report incidents of bullying to any member of staff with whom they feel comfortable.

The school takes a number of preventative measures. Bullying is in the Social Education programme. All pupils are regularly given information about what to do if they are bullied. In addition to telling someone directly, any pupil can leave a note at the office reporting bullying and an investigation will follow. Each year there is an ABC Anti-Bullying Campaign. Each year Sixth Year Friends directly support new S1 pupils.

Every report of bullying will be discussed. The pupils concerned will be interviewed and if bullying is established, formally reported to both sets of parents. The pupil doing the bullying will receive an appropriate punishment. Guidance staff will work with all pupils involved and in particular, will give appropriate support to the victim.

Bullying cannot be stopped by pupils, parents or teachers acting alone.
